She walked up slowly behind him. Her beaded, white train trailing behind her. Shivering a little from the cold, but even more from anticipation. Her hand raised as she tapped him on the shoulder. Like slow motion, he turned around. His eyes locked on her. And the tears instantly welled up. He pulled her close and just held her.
I have never witnessed a sweeter first look. Stephen’s adoration for ShaeLyn was so apparent in that moment. First looks are some of the most precious moments I get to witness as a Utah wedding photographer.
Last January, divine design landed these amazing people in the same ward at BYU-Idaho. Stephen taught a lesson and ShaeLyn thought he was pretty cute. Then, they found out they were in the same Family Home Evening group. What luck ????
In February, one of ShaeLyn’s friends wanted to do a double date together, which left ShaeLyn with the task of finding a date. She knew who she wanted to ask right away. After pacing the room for what felt like hours, she finally called Stephen. They went on the first date to an escape room and had a great time.
Stephen keyed in to ShaeLyn’s interest and the rest is history. They started dating and Stephen proposed on a walk through the beautiful gardens on campus.
As a girl who asked my husband on the first date too, ShaeLyn has a special place in my heart. From the moment I talked with these two on the phone, I loved them. They are some of the happiest, kindest people I have ever met. And it was even more apparent during their session. They were laughing almost the entire time! You never would’ve known it was freezing.
ShaeLyn and Stephen, I am so glad you two found each other. It was a match made in Heaven. You are so happy and perfect together. You are such a light. I cannot wait to see your beautiful beaming faces as husband and wife. Less than a month!
