Ogden Utah Wedding Photographer
They swayed back and forth. Snuggled so close, nose to nose. Just swaying. Oblivious to the few people still left around them. We had just finished family portraits and I was taking a few quick pictures of just Karly and Matheson. Now officially Mr. and Mrs. I had asked them to show me how they felt to be married now. They embraced and swayed back and forth. Absolutely blissfully happy. Peacefully giddy as if to say, “I’m so glad to be yours now.”
Karly and Matheson are one of those couples that just glows. They’re genuine and so kind. Happy and perfect together. They met on Mutual and Matheson asked Karly one of the most controversial questions of all time… do you like pineapple on your pizza? (Team pineapple all the way!) Karly did and it sealed the deal. He made homemade pizza with pineapple on it for their first date.
When Matheson was ready to ask Karly to be his wife for all eternity, he got a notebook from Denik with a watercolor painting of them together on it. When Karly opened the notebook, there was a square cutout with a picture of the Ogden temple in the background and a beautiful ring resting on top.
Karly and Matheson deserve the couple of the year award. I told them that in order to get beautiful lighting for their formal pictures, we would either have to do them at sunset or sunrise. They met me at the temple at six in the morning the day of their wedding for their formal pictures! Yes six! And Karly got up at 3:30am to get ready! That is true dedication. I was sooooo impressed. And I’m also so glad she took a nap later. The pictures were absolutely stunning.
It started to rain during their formals and Karly said, “Let’s go dance in it!” That just shows you their personalities. I loved every minute with Karly and Matheson. After the sealing, Karly was swinging her nieces around and I leaned over to Matheson and said, “She is going to be such a great mom.” He looked at her with the sweetest look and said, “Yes she is.”
Karly and Matheson, I am so excited for your life together. You two radiate so much light and happiness and authenticity. You are perfect together. I cannot wait to see where life takes you and the beautiful life you will build together. Always stay optimistic, adventurous, and joyful – it’s contagious. I wish you the very best on this amazing new adventure.
Xo,
Lauren
