Bride Guide #50 gives you tips on Bridal Showers and Grooms Showers by Brigham City UT Wedding Photographer Lauren Kay Photography.
Girl, you are the center of attention. Even if that’s not your style, let people celebrate you! This is your
time to feel special and be celebrated! You can have as many parties thrown for you as people are
willing to do as long as it doesn’t overwhelm you. If you haven’t heard about anyone throwing you a
bridal shower or bachelorette party, it doesn’t hurt to ask a bridesmaid, a sister, or your mom if they will.
Bridal Showers
Your bridal showers can be close-knit gatherings, or they can basically take the place of a reception. I
know couples who have had large bridal showers with all their acquaintances instead of a reception so
that they can reserve their wedding day celebration for their close friends and family.
Usually bridal showers are either an open house where people come and go or they are a more intimate
gathering with games and activities. You can talk with the people throwing your shower and let them
know what you would enjoy most.
Groom Showers
I recognize that this isn’t really a widespread thing, but why not! While you are with your family and
friends at a bridal shower, usually the guys are all hiding in the basement. Instead, why don’t they
celebrate your groom? They could have their own little gathering for him with gifts like tools and things
that a groom would love. If you think this is something your groom would love, talk to someone in his
family or one of his friends about heading it up.
Remember… Have your registry done before your shower invitations are sent out.
